Kite Spot Adicora - Venezuela
Description
The high wind season in Adícora enjoys constant and strong tradewinds, and is at its peak from January until September. Other months provide plenty of good sailing days also, but not quite as consistently.
The wind is side/on shore and the waves are mushy and forgiving. There are infinite jumping oportunities and easy, fun waveriding. When sailing parallel to the shoreline you have a number of options. One you can sail outside of the breaking waves and play on the smoothly spaced out swells as they build up towards the beach.
Or you can sail farther in where the waves are breaking and do endless down the line turns, or pinch back upwind in a gust and blast out over a wave. What, you say you can only jump port side, no problem, just turn around. You can sail for miles and miles up and down parallel to the beach.
How to go there
Int'l airport, Josefa Camejo, and then car to the beach. 45 minute drive. Also there is a small airport strip, cemented, 200 mts from the beach, and then walk to the beach. Fly to Caracas, then Coro. Take a taxi (60km) to Adicora. Or fly to Aruba, then fly to Las Piedras(25 min.) Then a taxi to Adicora town.
