Kite Spot Wollongong Beach - United Arab Emirates

Description

At present there is only one beach location approved by Dubai Municipality for kiting. "Wollongong Beach" is located along the beach fronts of Jumeirah and Um Sequim, between the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the old Wollongong University, (now an art centre).  Whilst you can kite in any streach of water on this beach, you can only launch and land in the area indicated on the map below.

Hazards are few but include the occassional fishing net and several large sign posts set into the sand . On any day of the week you will share the beach with swimmers who have very little if any understanding of big kites, so be considerate and assume they don't understand the hazards!!
