Kite Spot Fehmarn - Germany

Description

The island of Fehmarn offers various spots for various windconditions, the most popular being "Grüner Brink" in the north of the island, near Puttgarden Ferry-terminal and "Gold" in the south, located in the bay west of the bridge.  Both offer sandbeaches easily to be reached by car.  There is another popular spot at "Orth", located at the southwestern tip of the island.  It offers a large and shallow protected area like a lagoon which is comfortable for beginners because it is usually not that crowded.  But here you have to set up your gear on a grassy dike that you might share with some sheep and you have to climb across a few rocks to get in the water.

How to go there

You best go by car because it offers you to quickly change spots on the island.  You can get there by train as well.  If you get off at Puttgarden you are already almost at "Grüner Brink".

Nightlife

The island lives of its tourism in the summer, so it offers all kinds hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs and of course surfshops.  Most of it is located in the islands capital "Burg".  One of the nicest places to chill out is the coffeeshop "Sorgenfrei" located on the beach at Burgtiefe.

They also have an aquarium, a museum-submarine, a cinema so you do not necessarily get bored on a windless or rainy day.
